Windsurfing: Cooden Wind Direction: W Wind Stength: 10-18 knots building thro sesh Surf / Sea State: flat with building swell with Air Temperature: warm Sea Temperature: warm Weather: just right ! Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Had a look at Pevensey Bay 11.30ish, car park was rammed and the beach had
some flag waving gospel singing baptist church thingy happening ... really
musical etc but didn\'t look that windy.
Got a call from PaulP who was walking Birling Gap and he said it was
honking out there, loadsa whitecaps and stiff breeze for walking along the
cliffs too.
Figured Cooden would be worth a look given more open to W-WSW then in the
Bay, got there and looked like it\'d fill in and we were getting 10-12
knots cross-shore on the windy ... rigged my 8.5m & Manta 75 and planed
straight off the beach, right on high tide with no shorebreak issues ...
had 4-5 runs out and back and was pretty stacked ... time to change down
Left the 8.5m & Manta rigged in case I was being over enthusiastic and
rigged 3S 97 with 6.4m Remedy ... planed straight off the beach just as
approx 6-7 others just arrived and were curious what size to rig ... most
promptly rigged 6.0-6.5m\'s .... before heading back in to change down to
5.0-6.0m\'s as wind continued to build ...
I know I should have changed down too, but I was having too much fun to
bother, given I had a limited window as needed to be packed up and head off
to meet the missus & kids to go to VFW Mark\'s bash .... I\'m sure Mark
will be on here to tell everyone how his afternoon went .... bet he\'ll be
more sore from his eve session than his afternoon one tho
Nice session when all I\'d thought I was going to get was a marginal 8.5m
session
